Anya Kalk is Swedish artist that specializes in historically inspired ornamentation and sculpture. She was born in Sandviken, Sweden and is currently living and working in southern Sweden.
She has a traditional education as a professional woodcarver specializing in historical ornamental carving from Tibro Hantverksakademin and have also studied traditional crafts and green woodworking at Sätergläntan.
Her work is inspired by nature and history. The art is an interpretation of classical ornamental compositions, mystical beings and folklore. In her studio she tries to work with traditional materials, techniques and tools whenever possible.
